Our Department of Theatre has a rich tradition of excellence in the fine art of Theatre. Through the hard work of dedicated professionals and students, this department has grown from a small framework of classes to 10 levels of full year courses offered by the school.

We offer five productions per season. The Humble High School Theatre department has taken on a diverse array of productions-ranging from the classic Greek dramas to contemporary and experimental theatre. Some of our favorite productions include The Elephant Man, Proof, The Trojan Women, Of Mice and Men, The Children's Hour, A Little Princess, Fences, Silent Sky, These Shining Lives, and The Crucible, just to name a few.

A first for the state of Texas at a high school level, our annual 24 Hour Theatre Project! This is where the students write, produce, direct, act, design and build an entire production in twenty four hours for the public to see! In the Spring, we offer a second season of Student-Written/Directed shows every year. We also offer students a chance to participate in student-run theatre organizations such as the Theatre Guild, USITT and  Slam Poetry.

Our directors enjoy teaching students how to channel their creative spirit into acting, directing, playwriting and design. Every year we introduce students to a variety of traditions that create a tight-knit community of thespians-including the annual 24 Hour Theatre Project, the annual fall trip to the Renaissance Festival, the Evening of Ten-Minute Plays, and many weekends spent together attending live plays. In addition to all of the customary theatre instruction,  Mrs. B has also created an award-winning Slam Poetry team that highlights both theatrical and artistic skills.
